Why I Built CGEN

I am someone who has always had more ideas than time to develop them. A concept would arrive, excitement would build – and then, without a structure to hold it, it would fade, staying unfinished on a shelf or fading into the past. I was never short of ideas. I was short of a system.

The second part of the story is more specific. I kept seeing the same promotions everywhere – new platforms promising to build you a fully working application in minutes. Bolt, Lovable, Famous.ai, and a growing wave of others, all offering the same promise: frontend, backend, and logic, just from a description. The technology was real and it worked.

But that wasn’t the only place the gap appeared. Startup accelerators, pitch competitions, investor platforms – everywhere people were being told to turn their idea into a product. The assumption was always the same: that you already knew how to explain your idea clearly enough for someone else – or something else – to act on it. An AI builder, a developer, an investor, a co-founder. It didn’t matter who was listening. If the idea wasn’t structured, nothing moved.

Most people can’t bridge that gap. That’s not a failure of imagination – it’s a failure of structure.

CGEN was built to solve that. Not to compete with the builders, the accelerators, or the investors – to come before them. To take the raw, imperfect, half-formed thing in your head and turn it into something clear enough to build, pitch, or pursue.
